This is YAML code for use in Home Assistant to save you time. You can use it to play a text-to-speech (TTS) announcement over your Home Assistant media players in a home automation. This includes the YAML code for the automation. See the images for what to expect, and watch this video for how to use it.

This is dependent on adding the Chime TTS HACS integration, as explained in the video.

INSTALL 

After purchasing, follow these steps to use the YAML code in just 1 minute: 

  1. In Home Assistant, go to Settings > Automations & scenes > Automations > Create Automation > Create New Automation.
  2. Add your desired trigger and conditions for the automation to run.
  3. Click the three dots in the upper right > select Edit in YAML > paste the YAML code in the zip file toward the bottom as part of the action.
  4. Edit the entity names to match the actual names of your Home Assistant entities.
  5. Click Save.

REMEMBER

This YAML code is just for the announcement portion. You'll need to define what triggers the automation to run (e.g., entity state change).
