This is YAML code for use in Home Assistant to save you time. You can use it to program the F1-F10 function buttons on a ThirdReality Smart Mechancial Keyboard MK to trigger smart home actions and home automations. This includes the YAML code for the automation. See the images for what to expect, and watch this video for how to use it.

This is dependent on having the ThirdReality Smart Mechancial Keyboard MK1.

INSTALL 

After purchasing, follow these steps to use the YAML code in just 1 minute: 

  1. In Home Assistant, go to Settings > Automations & scenes > Automations > Create Automation > Create New Automation.
  2. Add your desired trigger and conditions for the automation to run.
  3. Click the three dots in the upper right > select Edit in YAML > paste the YAML code in the zip file toward the bottom as part of the action.
  4. Edit the entity names to match the actual names of your Home Assistant entities.
  5. Click Save.

REMEMBER

This YAML code shows examples for the F1-F3 function buttons. You can copy and paste for buttons F4-F10.
